Accessibility Statement

Go Ape is committed to making goape.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by state accessibility laws, and we treat that work as ongoing rather than a one-time project.

Our commitment

We want every guest to be able to find a location, learn about our adventures, book a visit, and contact us without barriers. Accessibility is part of how we build, review and maintain this website.

Standards we follow

Our target standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. We measure our pages against these guidelines on the rendered site, as a visitor experiences it, not only in the source code.

What we have done

Every page template on goape.com has been reviewed against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, corrected, and then re-checked by independent reviewers. The changes are listed below by the date they were made.

July 31, 2026

• Published this Accessibility Statement and linked it from the footer of every page, with an email address and phone number for accessibility feedback.

September 18, 2026

• Every page has a single, descriptive main heading, and headings follow a logical order so screen reader users can move through a page section by section.
• Every card and image link can be reached and activated with a keyboard, and its destination is announced by assistive technology.
• A visible focus indicator appears on every link, button and form field when you navigate with a keyboard, on light and dark backgrounds alike.
• The background video on the home page is muted, carries a text description, and can be paused.
• Every embedded video has a written description next to it.
• Picture buttons were replaced with real text buttons, and every form field has a programmatic label.
• Text contrast was measured on the rendered pages and corrected wherever it fell below the 4.5:1 guideline.
• Invalid and duplicated markup was corrected so assistive technology reads each page consistently.

September 19, 2026

• The interactive location map and the availability calendar on each location page can be operated with a keyboard, and the calendar information window can be closed with the Escape key.
• The location picker on the booking forms carries a proper label on every page where it appears, and each Book Now button opens the location chosen next to it.
• Image descriptions were reviewed and corrected across the location and activity pages.
• Every page reflows to a 320 pixel wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
• Moving content pauses automatically for visitors who have asked their device to reduce motion.

How we keep this up

• New pages and posts are built with the same heading structure, text alternatives and keyboard support described above.
• We re-test the site after significant changes and record the results.
• We review this statement whenever the site changes and at least once a year.

Third-party content

Some parts of your experience, such as online booking and checkout, are provided by third-party services. Where we find an accessibility issue in one of those services we raise it with the provider, and we are happy to help you complete a booking by phone.
