Meet Mesa Pakutz, our Guest Service Lead. Mesa started her Go Ape journey as a course instructor at our Pittsburgh, PA location, eventually joining our Guest Experience team, and now leading the charge! Mesa has been with Go Ape for almost 5 years and has kept WOW-ing guests through every change in role!
Getting to Know Mesa
I previously worked in the Emergency Service world and had a strong love for Ropes and Rope Rescue. Working with Go Ape has allowed me to further my love for ropes and additionally build skills outside of the emergency management realm.
Go Ape is a tight-knit group of people that seamlessly work with one another! I’ve never experienced culture like this at another company.
Mesa’s Go Ape Story
I had the privilege to volunteer with my team to help an event organization called ‘Over the Edge’. With this, several members from the Go Ape – Pittsburgh Location assisted individuals in being harnessed and ensured safety to help them over the edge of a 348FT tall skyscraper in downtown Pittsburgh.
You will never forget taking your first step off of the Tarzan Swing! Not only is the climb back up a physical challenge, but just initiating it is a mental challenge.
Tears of joy! Seeing the confidence build in guests who are apprehensive at first is so inspiring. It truly makes you feel like you’re able to do anything!
The Personal Side
When not at Go Ape, you’re likely to find me at the firehouse or in the woods! I spend a good amount of time training with my local Volunteer Fire Department. When I’m not there, I am out in the woods hiking!
