Summer Is for Adventure, and These Are a Few of the People Who Make It Happen
At Go Ape, summer is a celebration of courage, connection, and discovery. On the forest floor patrolling to the highest platform and zipline, and even behind the scenes answering your questions, our team is the heartbeat of every zip, climb, and laugh through the trees.
We asked a few of our team members to share what they love about their roles, what they’re looking forward to this summer, and a few fun facts that make them uniquely Go Ape:
Johnny Felty
Regional Health & Safety Manager – Rockville, MD
Johnny’s favorite part of his job? “Getting the chance to build a team and develop people into experts in their role – and build great leaders!” He’s passionate about team-building and excited to travel across his region to see Go Ape locations in action. These include Go Ape Rockville, Springfield, Delaware, Ocean City, and occasionally, a few more.
Fun fact: Johnny was born in Oslo, Norway and has lived all over, but he’s a Pacific Northwest native at heart. His favorite adventure? “Getting my fill of adventure at the bowling alley.”
Sarah Lehky
Site Manager – Cleveland, OH
Sarah finds joy in helping guests overcome their fears. “It’s so rewarding seeing someone achieve something they thought was impossible!” This summer, she’s especially excited to host Nights at Height, Go Ape’s incredible night-time ziplining experience.
Fun fact: Sarah loves snowboarding and camping, and she even has a tattoo of the Go Ape tree logo!
Kristy McCarthy
Inside Sales Representative – Based near Plano & Arlington, TX
Kristy’s favorite part of her role is, “setting up adventurous experiences for people who have never experienced something like Go Ape, and hearing how amazing their experience was.” She’s looking forward to visiting local sites and trying the courses herself!
Fun fact: Kristy is a mom of two and has traveled to over 10 countries. Her favorite outdoor activity? “Hiking new places with water involved, especially in Switzerland.”
Jacqueline Otto
Executive Integrator – Based near Chicago, IL
Jacqueline’s favorite adventures are with her family. “We even have a name for it: ‘Forced Family Fun.’ As kids, we weren’t allowed to say no or complain!” She brings that same spirit of inclusion and joy to her work at Go Ape.
With a degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Jacqueline loves helping guests who may think they can’t complete the course. “I work with them to find a way to achieve their goal.” This summer, she’s excited to help organizations grow through Primal Dynamix.
Jack Marti
Vice President of Commercial Operations – Based near Rockville, MD
Jack’s role may be behind the scenes, helping strategize and ensure our activities are executed to perfection, but he’s deeply connected to Go Ape’s mission. “I love knowing that I’m contributing to a business that encourages others to get out of their comfort zone and be outdoors.” This summer, he’s looking forward to visiting more Go Ape locations.
Fun fact: Jack enjoys cooking, playing music, and hiking with his kids. He also plays ice hockey and counts BBQ as one of his favorite outdoor activities.
